I have outdoor lights in my house and I like for them to be on at night. this helps ward away the evil monkeys that come try to attack my house at night.
these lights are also controlled by an old light switch from the 1960s, which I do not trust because the contacts have become corroded and sometimes I can hear them arcing internally because they don't latch all the way!!!
Major fire hazard, I really need to replace all of them in my house but for now I just avoid leaving the old switches on unsupervised... which means I am not comfortable leaving them on all night!
Was in the magic orange place for some other stuff and holy crap these things are a rip off!! $50 for some basic electronics, FETs, and the housing? Probably only like $10 worth of parts. So I give up on box store and turn to Amazon, eBay, et cetera. Eventually found this one for cheap!
Got my other electrical supplies from the orange place and now I'm in business! Love this thing. It even remembers its settings if it loses power, so if I turn off and on the breaker I don't have to reconfigure anything. Awesome!!!
